Torque Wrench Information

Hi,
Later this summer I am going to need a torque wrench that reads in the 500 ft lb range. In looking over what is available online prices seem to range from about $250 to over $1000. How do I know which ones are good and/or accurate? What is the average accuracy of a good torque wrench? Anyone have any current brand-name recommendations? I'll probably only use it a dozen times at most but I am a stickler for accurately tightening bolts and nuts. In my limited experience, especially when buying a used truck I've found intermittent problems have been traced to loose bolts - such as loose bell housing to engine bolts, loose flywheel bolts and loose u-joint flange bolts. I was reading a post where someone bought the high-dollar Snap-on torque wrench and after about it's 4th use it broke on them before it reached the intended torque.
What about something like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Powerbuilt-3-4 ... 2057851167
What do you recommend?
Thank you.
Steve

These are the brands we have in the shop for the crews , all have certifications as required in my trade. Some of these brands do go up to 500ft #
more than I ever needed but are available as well.

This is the one I keep in the old trucks tool box for the lug bolts.

Good searching..

I have lots of torque wrenches. I bought one of them new. The others came from secondhand stores or pawn shops or swap meets. I have one torque screwdriver. I bought it for setting the fasteners on Autometer Gauges.
Used is OK. I always take a new to me torque wrench to MOTION INDUSTRIES for certification. If you need the certification papers and sticker is costs more money. A simple check-up is about $20.

To keep the tool accurate back off to zero after each use.

Good suggestion.
I never thought about it before, but that makes sense to me.
Thank you.

I wonder if that is the same MOTION INDUSTRIES I used to buy seals and O-rings from in Los Angeles? Nice to know there is someplace other than the manufacturer I can send a torque wrench to be checked out.
Thank you.
