Torque Wrench Information
Later this summer I am going to need a torque wrench that reads in the 500 ft lb range. In looking over what is available online prices seem to range from about $250 to over $1000. How do I know which ones are good and/or accurate? What is the average accuracy of a good torque wrench? Anyone have any current brand-name recommendations? I'll probably only use it a dozen times at most but I am a stickler for accurately tightening bolts and nuts. In my limited experience, especially when buying a used truck I've found intermittent problems have been traced to loose bolts - such as loose bell housing to engine bolts, loose flywheel bolts and loose u-joint flange bolts. I was reading a post where someone bought the high-dollar Snap-on torque wrench and after about it's 4th use it broke on them before it reached the intended torque.
What about something like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Powerbuilt-3-4 ... 2057851167
What do you recommend?
Thank you.
