Gees, I hope you do, and I didn't mean to get preachy, I am running without my dog and miss him very much.
Std Poodles can be great dogs, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for them.

Just remember on Popeye that when he walked Olive Oil's poodle Bluto would kick the crap out of him. Keep plenty of spinach on hand.

As a little boy I grew up on Popeye cartoons. As an adult I can see it as a bit of a morality play and Popeye always triumphed over Bluto's badness and managed save Olive in the process. Probably all the fist fighting would be a bit much for today's parents and they wouldn't let their children watch it. Myself and my friends didn't turn out too bad from watching Popeye, Three Stooges to.
