Wow your neck of the woods is a long way up, but would have love to have driven up there.

I grew up a couple of miles from "Foothill Blvd." the Route 66 piece in San Gabriel Valley, CA.
It was the street that was known for murderous biker bars...and later...In N Out Hamburgers.
There were solid orange groves north of Foothill, right up to the San Gabriels. Gillette Citrus owned them and the land underneath. Grandpa Gillette bequeathed the land for San Dimas Canyon Park.
Now I suppose it's all houses and business.
Mark Gillette married my (San Dimas) neighbor Penny and they live a few minutes from my shop in Dinuba.
Small world?
