I'm just so sorry. So discouraging.

So the saga continues. I was demonstrating the backup camera to my family and the next day a neighbour stopped by for a look and when I tried to activate the camera with the reverse circuit in the shift linkage, the camera did not respond. As expected it was a "green" connection on a wire from the main harness. A quick cleaning and reconnect and the camera works.
I am learning to do more research, on-line, before I call for help. GOOGLE is my best friend, as it turns out. I had been unable to get the TECHNOSTALGIA LED http://www.cool-leds.com/led-taillights-ford.htm 6501 and 6027 turn signals to flash. The local dealer sold me an LED specific electronic flasher complete with a verbal guarantee that this is the final solution. This not made in North America flasher was a dud and does not work with LED or tungsten bulbs. I went back on-line and on the GROTE site and found this. http://www.grote.com/products/44891-var ... r-flasher/ This unit works when my tungsten test light is introduced into the circuit. More research and I finally found just what I need to make reliable flashing turn LED signals. I am making progress. BTW. The Alpine radio works really well and the amplified sound is fantastic.
The lessons I/we have learned on this project will help to steer my son's L110 Shorty build. He does not want power windows, but, Vintage Air and New Port Electric wipers and Autometer Gauges along with an ALPINE stereo system. Power windows can be added at any time in the future. Since I have so many "L&R" doors I can make up a power window installation kit and put into drawer two in case he changes his mind. The best modular power window harness for an L110 is from a FOX BODY Mustang. This is so close to plug and play.

Your experience is why I keep incandescent bulbs for the tractor and LED for trailer lighting. The available flasher at any truckstop will work, while allowing the low LED current for the long distant run to the back of the trailer. Resistors will work, but might as well use the bulb as the resistance instead of the separate unit. I understand why in your case, it is different application than a road tractor.

AS my Dad used to say, " Live and learn."

Our R120 had TRUCK LITE LED lights front and back. These lights worked without an additional resistor / load added to the circuits. There appears to be resistors inside the sealed light units. These striped resistors are worth pennies . My thoughts are, Technostalgia should have included the necessary parts with or in their lights.
A hobby without a few challenges could be boring.

Today was the day to make an adapter and install the dash-cam. The adapter bracket was milled to fit the centre bar of the windscreen and not touch the glass. The windscreen glass does not face straight forward, so making a bracket that holds the dash cam forward was important. I want the dash cam and adapter bracket to be out-of-site as much as is possible. The chamfered slot, in the bracket, fits the head of a socket-head machine screw. The bracket is installed from the bottom and pushed up to the end of the slot where the chamfer is just a little deeper to capture the flathead machine screw.

Gee I have seen lots of things hanging from a mirror before but broom heads. That's a first. LOL

Those brooms are the venerable Clancy C5 six string corn brooms. These brooms are part of my wife's transportation so it is appropriate that the brooms be parked /hung in the garage until the next time they are pressed into service. She is in Europe until the end of next month. She made other travel arrangements and left her Clancy C Fives in the garage where they hang out with me.
I have been told the Clancy C5 is good in the corners and leaves most of the competition in the dust.

It is 06:36h and I am getting up soon for another day in the shop. My son lit the pilot light in the furnace so the furnace can be fired up on these cooler mornings.
The furnace is metric and only works in Celsius. It will automatically start at 1C to keep the pipes from freezing at 0 Celsius. Everyone should try Celsius at least once. Freeze up is at zero with Celsius rather than 32 with Fahrenheit. Celsius has changed my life.

yes the cool thing about C is that zero to 100 takes water from solid to gas, well, vapor actually, with liquid in between. easier to remember than that 32 to 212 stuff..
