I purchased this truck about a 16 months ago and have started to work on it a bit. I had known the owner of the truck as long as remember and I was able to track it down after he passed away. I joined the site to hopefully get some information on where to get parts or technical advise when needed. Here is a picture of me when I was driving it home after purchasing it. If I know someone is interested, I would be happy to post more pictures and information of the work I've done and what I plan to do. Thanks, Andy

Welcome! Yes, more pictures. We always like pictures. We do have a wide range of members/Experience, and outlooks on how things "go" together. There are also a few who have larger trucks. Would you know the chassis/serial number on your truck? Do you have a line setting ticket?(if not, may be able to get one from Wisconsin Historical Society, They have the archives for the International built in the US.

That must be about the largest truck that used that cab. What engine and transmission does it have?

It was an odd duck for it's time, most were either loggers or mixers (cement mixer). Odd to see a flat rack. I had to look at which side the steering wheel was on, with that visor, it looks like an Aussi truck. We didn't generally have those here in NA.
I'm guessing a 6-71 for power and there were many options for trans. I used to know where another was but it was hauled off for scrap 20 some odd years ago. I want to pick some parts off it before it went but wasn't quick enough.

Many bigger used that cab, The Westcoaster and of course Diamond T used it as did Hendrickson, FWD Sicard and others. The 950RS Diamond T was one of the biggest to use it.

I don't have a line setting ticket, I would like to try to get one. The truck originally was an oil field winch tractor in Wyoming, a family friend purchased it in the late 80's and converted it to a pile driving rig and used it actively until 2014 when he sold it. A friend of his bought the truck then reconditioned the pile driving rig and mounted it to a M923. The truck is powered by an NHCT-270 Cummins with a spicer 5 speed main and Spicer 8341c 4-speed auxiliary trans. I remember being around the truck as a little kid, and I've always thought it was neat looking. So when I learned the truck was in limbo I tracked it down and got it bought as quickly as possible. My intention was to get the truck cleaned up a bit and convert it back to a tractor. Unfortunately the frame under it was beyond repair, so I pulled one of the rails and sent it out to get a quote for a new set of rails.

Then, I got a quote for the frame and found it was alot more economical to purchase this half disassembled truck and use the frame, axles and tires from it instead. I also had to purchase a 3rd truck cab from a fire truck as the grey cab was beyond being practically repaired, and the red truck cab wasn't much better. Andy

Everything got media blasted and alot of rust repair was done to virtually every component. If it wasn't rusty, it was leaking, cracked, or broken. I used SPI Epoxy primer on everything, I ve had good luck with it.

Thanks for the compliment. The site is limiting me to 4 pics per post, that's why I'm doing the updates the way I am. I have a ton of pictures detailing all the repairs I did, this is a abbreviated version. If anyone is doing a similar truck or want pictures of something in particular just ask and I would be happy to provide them. The pics show some floor pan replacement I did. I also included a picture of the radiator which I had re-cored as well as the heater-core. I rebuilt the radiator shutters as well, all of the piviot points were corroded and seized. The shutters and frame are aluminum, I had to drill all the pivot holes out and press in bushings. It was very tedious process, but I was very happy with the result. Thanks, Andy
