Re: id distributor

Buy an Ignitor!!!
You have the thing out,the Ignitor goes inside the unit where the plate the points mount on is. Remove the vac. advance arm,then it should be 2 screws to remove the plate assy. The Ignitor goes in the same way,recon. the vac. adv. slip the Ignitor trigger wheel over the cam,set the air gap with the provided gauge,put the cap on and you are done.
So easy a caveman could do it. LOL

I think I posted the coil pn but...
UC-12X Standard Motor Products #

NAPA ECH IC12
Checked their online price...$38.99. A bit high if ya ask me. They also have one with a chrome housing for a mere $91.49. :shock: :shock: :shock:

The Pertronix site has a dealer locator,try that or the search link I posted.

I believe it's just an "E" clip aka jesus clip. Take the plate with the pin and go to your NAPA store and find one that fits the groove and locks in place. Home cheapo has some too in the draws on the nut & bolt isle,so do many Ace hardware.

Re: id distributor

Thought I post my complete search results?
https://www.google.com/#psj=1&q=pertronix+1483a

You'll likely have to order it from someplace so I'd try the lowest priced vendors 1st. Top shows a couple including Advance Auto,any near you?

None beat this price that I saw.

Here's another way to look them up using the distributor PN;
http://www.pertronix.com/support/ignito ... fault.aspx

Here's the MT-140 parts manual;
http://www.liberatedmanuals.com/tm-5-42 ... nd-p-6.pdf
May take time to load.

The SV8 Prestolite point dist. is in Group 8,FIG.08-054,Page # 55 is you want to run all the IH #'s thru the look-up above.

Here's search results for the 9183A Ignitor2
https://www.google.com/#psj=1&q=pertronix+91483a

IMO,if you used the truck daily on the road using the Ignitor2 might be worth it,but as you don't the regular 1483A will do fine. It's your money though.
