392 oil and amount

hello finally able to get back on here, I have a 1982 international harvester s 1700 bucket truck with a 392, can anyone tell me what type engine oil and the amount with filter change thanks

Should take 9 quarts with the filter...as for the weight, originally I believe IH called for 30W

Swepco Oil #306. 10W-30. Check the dipstick !! NAPA Oil Filter.
My Junk --> 1975 IH Model 200HD, 1 ton 4x4 truck, 392, 4 speed, etc.

If I had a dip stick I would just check it. Lol. It missing. Anyone know where I could get one

I did check our Advertiser at the top of the page, but think he may only have a scout one. I could be wrong, and you can call them.

Some of the motors had (small filters & some had big cans. I would think you would have the large filter.
If you are changing the filter look to see if there is a no on it, Take a tape measure & do you thing.
