1979 IHC 4200 transtar

I am in the process of selling this truck.
I am postive that the front rear end has been changed during its lifetime due it being a different color than the back one.
In being honest to sellers I want to let them know the RR Ratio plus that is a big part when selling OTR trucks.
Is there any way to determine this without removing the unit?
I hope the replacement is the same ratio as what the LST says.
Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.

Look on the head of the pinion of the rear-rear. You might have to clean off grease and dirt. What you want to look at is the end of the shaft that the nut that holds the yoke on.
You are looking for numbers like 10-41, or something like that. Divide the smaller number into the bigger for the ratio.
In the above example 10-41 is 4.10 ratio
You better hope they put the same in the front rear! Only way to check it is to pull the power divider or the whole unit.
How did the windshield work out? Last I knew you were looking for a gasket.

Still looking for a rubber for the windshields.
Not having any luck.
I have asked for later models and was told NOLA.
There is very few good parts men left...the ones that will take the time to do digging to try and find what you are looking for.
I had one at IHC in Topeka, KS. that helped me find parts for IHC PU'S I was restoring. He retired.
He still had the old Michrofische (SP) files and the machine to look at them.

Re; gasket, you may just have to make one from a length of straight. Been there done that on my Dart. It does form fit if warmed a bit.
