Another look at my R160

A walk around commentary on my R 160 as it sits out in the shed this winter.

great video Ralph! always enjoy a trip to your farm via "roosty6"

is that frame salvageable where it is bent up? Must be something one can do?

The truck frame is fine, straight as an arrow. Its the box frame rail that is so bent up. I can't figure how they did it. Almost looks as if something was jammed in there between when the box was up, and then they lowered the box with a lot of weight on it. That is some heavy metal. Not sure how I could straighten it. Everything works fine as is so I have not put a big priority on straightening it. Biggest priority is getting the brakes to work.

Ahhhh that'd be it alright. a load of gravel, lowered, when the dufous forgot to remove the log that kept the hydraulic from drifting down! I've "lowered" a box in this fashion just to relax the pins to work on the hydraulic. Not the safest method, but when it is empty, it works. it might need a new box frame, no big deal, really.
