Took off the differential cover yesterday and found a small flat head screwdriver in the oil/sludge in the bottom. Incredible. Guess it was just heavy enough not to get slung up into the works...or the truck was never run at high speed since?

In 1961 I was admitted to hospital for a burst appendix. It was emergency surgery and I stayed in recovery for a week. For the next 20 plus years I had bit and pieces of surgical supplies migrating to the surface, some requiring additional surgery to clean up the mess that the original Doctor Butcher left inside. I would like to think that some kind of inventory system has been developed in the years since. There were a few times when I became more sick from the post surgery complications than I was for the original problem.
This was 52+ years ago and it is reasonable to assume that all of the active participants in the surgery are deceased, except me. I've had several complicated procedures, since the dark ages of the early 1960's and it all went really well. So, I'm still around and there are some mixed feelings about that being a good thing.
