I have a 52 l-120 That is going to make the transformation in to a gasser. The plans for now is jack the front up and drop a 327 in it.

Sounds like a plan, although you might want to build a new frame or stiffen the original up to withstand the torque from the small block. either way keep us informed on your project. ;) ;) ;)

That's already a pretty heavy frame, unless he is really building that 327... Under 300HP I can't imagine an issue with frame twist.

I am with Bruce on this one. The L, R, S series is famous for cracking the left front gusset member. It is thought it is either engine torque or the forces input to the frame from the steering gear. So, yes, consider beefing up the frame for a 300 hp upgrade.
