Re: Kb 8 1949

I put my 48 KB 7 cab, grill, bumper and running boards on a 69 Chevy C-40 dump truck. Mostly because that was available and in really good shape. I lucked out in that the frame was exactly the same width and only required the drilling of new holes to bolt all those parts up. The wheel size and wheel base measurements were just right as well. I did have to weld extensions on to the front frame rails for that big bumper and had to fab a new steering shaft as the steering box was in a very different location. I also had to fab linkages for the clutch and brake but I was able to use the same old assembly and just bolt it to the frame underneath the cab, just like it was on the International.

I am guessing you are looking for something more modern, but if you want to discuss anything or see pictures let me know.
