New Member Question(s)

Hello and thanks for taking time to read this. Like you might guess from my profile name, I like old vehicles. a project on my mind is a 1940's panel truck on a modern chassis with freshened up drivetrain, to pile the dogs into, grab my camera's and head out across the country in retirement. 4x4, would be good, for if I get in some sand, or snow. Can anyone tell me, or direct me to links where such a conversion has been done? How do you set the vintage body on a modern donor frame? Which 4x4's make the best donors? And am looking at a 1948 KB2, the passenger front floor is wood, the owner is telling me that they had wood on the RH side, is this correct?

thank you!

Re: New Member Question(s)

Thanks guys, in no hurry Ibesq, and thanks for the link Duane.

Is there a site that would confirm the wheelbase(s) of the KB's, particularly the Panel Trucks? I have found some conflicting information.

PS, were the front floor pan's all metal, or steel on the drivers side and wood on the passenger side?

Re: New Member Question(s)

The cab floors are all metal. Only wood is in the truck bed and then only if it is the Knox box. The standard IHC truck bed was steel. I think the panel trucks used wood for the cargo area floor but not 100% sure.
