frame ?'s MII suspension

I'm looking at buying a Fatman Fab. MII front susp. Their website shows a 28" frame and a 30" frame. Mine is 29 9/16" wide. When I called, they said to get the 30" unit. When I look at some of the pickup frames, they look different from mine. Are pickup frames the same width front and back? Mine is 29 9/16" at center of front axle and 44 1/4" at center of rear axle. I'm thinking mine is wider due to it being a panel, and the body is wider all the way back.

Re: frame ?'s MII suspension

My truck is a little newer than yours - L model, but having put the Fatman Fabrications MII in my truck, the only part I can think that would be affected any would be the cross member. With the dimensions you've given, I agree the 30" size would work and there may be a little of the cross member extend out each side - if at all. The few fractions of an inch that might protrude would be negligible.

Re: frame ?'s MII suspension

I used Fatmans 30" crossmember on my '41 K1 with power rack and pinion and stainless steel a-arms(cause they look so great) I also moved the crossmember 2 inches forward to centre the wheels in the wheel wells. I think it looks better that way. Heres a link to my build with pics of the M 11. Make sure you get the sway bar as you will need it!
I believe when i talked to them 5 years ago that 28" was done for a earlier IHC,possibly a '40 or so,, something along that line which is why they want your frame measurement.

I don't have first hand knowledge of the K or KB-1, but my L-110 frame is 28" wide at the front wheels. The cross member I got was for that width.

Blueovalguy, use the 30". I'm using a Heidts but similar to the Fatman. Mine was an universal so it took a bit to figure out.

Good luck with your project. The next time I'm in Harrisburg, I'll let you know. Maybe we can meet.
