Rust issues?

Got a line on a 76 Scout Traveler I might look at tomorrow. It's got a bit of rust (naturally) in the rockers and around the fender lips, which I think I can probably fix pretty easily, but also has some under the windshield.

How hard is it to repair rust under the windshield? Patch panels for the rocker and fenders should be available, but it's double walled around the windshield and probably no panels for that.

Otherwise it's pretty straight, the interior looks good, it runs and it's kind of a rare beast.

Oh, another negative is it's 2wd.

$2500. What do you think? Worth it?

Re: Rust issues?

The Windshield frame on the Scout II is replaceable, bolts in.
Remove the Traveltop first though.

Easy to convert a 4x2 Scout II into a 4x4 Scout II.
All you need is the parts.
Practically a bolt in project; no welding, no cutting or major mods.

Re: Rust issues?

The fact that you can take the windshield frame out makes it a little easier to repair them too.

I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
