1976 Scout Traveler

Just bought this one. 4WD,345 Auto, runs drives, all the lights work, stops.
The wife and I bought a new one in 1975 got rid of it have kicked myself ever since.
Needless to say I am needing body parts.
1. both rockers
2. both sides these are from the doors back to the rear.
I have not contacted anyone for parts as I just got it last week.
Wondering what other might have for body parts that are useable.
Thank you.

The Scout guys hang out on binderplanet.com
There is more vendors in The USA. SuperScout etc, don't recall the one in Iowa, that would be closer. Shipping from Canada is to much.

Re: 1976 Scout Traveler

Well believe it or not I found 2 NOS quarters for this traveler and the rockers as well. Paid dearly but it was the only ones I could find unless I wanted to go with some patch panels. The quarters on it have been fixed with bondo so thick that it would have taken a lot of labor to get them right and as bad as they were they may have never been able to be fixed and looked correct.
Anyway now the work of tearing it apart starts to see what else needs replaced or built.
Thanks for the leads.

Well, Kevin, you should know that most of the reproduction parts for many vehicles are made and originate in the USA. It is common for a Canadian distributor to serve the US customers by shipping from the US to US without routing through Canada. I know of two local specialty car parts suppliers who maintain warehousing in Washington State. They bring their parts into Canada, as needed so as not having to pay taxes and duties on parts that may not sell in a reasonable time. These two business use a computer program that takes care of the details involved in importing. This simplifies the documenting and saves on a much larger brokerage fee. A broker may not be required if the paper trail is complete and correct.
I have to ask how you might think shipping charges from Canada might be so high.
Buying something in Canada with USA dollars has been a real bonus for American buyers. Our dollar was as low as 70 cents. It looks like the dollar advantage may be over in the near future. the Canadian dollar is getting stronger, every day.
