Re: Looking for air cleaner part number

Steve, Brake parts for a Loadstar are no big deal,I know many pn's by heart and have the resources to look up everything. Just would need the codes from the LST or the size and if they are manual or self adjust. Front & rear axle codes would be useful too. It would take no time at all to look up.

Hi, and thank you for the offer of help, it is appreciated.

Perhaps the first part number would be the air cleaner stud that goes to a Holley 2 b carb and the air cleaner assembly posted in this thread. I believe the stud is 3/8 in. that goes into the carb and 1/4 inch that goes through the lid. With all the companies that make aftermarket air cleaner assemblies, that stud has been remarkably hard to find. All I can find are 1/4 in. air cleaner studs.

I could just use a 3/8 in. piece of threaded rod, and drill out the lid, but I would rather not drill it out. The only other thing I can come up with would be to weld two bolts, a 1/4 in. and a 3/8 in. together, head to head. But the right part would be preferable.

Thanks.

Re: Looking for air cleaner part number

Unbelievable, there's more than one of those studs listed. Different lengths, this one for this carb pn,that for this...

I also found the pn for an "adapter" listed under the studs, I presume it threads into the carb to reduce it for certain studs (?).
335525C1 Adapter,screw mounting

Bad thing is,it kinda failed in a search. :( That tells me there may be one used by others that used Holley carbs like Ford(?).

And there are...

I also found this pn that may be for an oil bath, it hit in a search at...Ritchie

Decided to check others...

Hi,
Thanks for the help. I'll give Richie's a call next week when I have a day off. Don't know why I didn't think of them before. Hopefully they might have something. Mostly I've been searching people like Mr. Gasket and Edelbrock and others who make aftermarket air cleaner assemblies. But all they have are either straight 1/4 in. studs or 5/16 to 1/4 in. adapters. I definitely need a 3/8 to 1/4 in. stud or stud adapter.

The only reason why I can think they list different p/n's for Loadstar air cleaner studs is depending if its used with a oil bath or dry paper air filter assembly.

Thanks.

Re: Looking for air cleaner part number

I didn't look into anything deep enough to see what size adapters are available, checked Moroso & Mr.Gasket online catalogs and nothing with 3/8 at all.

Not an easy thing to find, but I did find some.
http://www.grainger.com/product/E-Z-LOK ... s_pp=false

For cameras actually but there's no reason it can't work I can see. This is just one of many I found, there are brass ones too.
http://www.aligrip.com/camera-screws-ad ... -p-64.html

http://www.mcmaster.com/#92499a244/=pdqc9d

A dab of thread lock (Loctite Blue) to keep in the carb. and it'd be good to go.

Actually I got the PN's with the sizes from the MT-140 the medium S-series that replaced the Loadstar because the pn's would be more up to date than the old MT-132 Irish Mike has. Same filter element so...
The length differences are related to the different carb's used, some applications used a Holley 2210 series, some the 2300 and used slightly different lower housings by the way it's all listed.
