Timing BD264

Can anyone tell me how to set the timing on a BD-264? I'm not 100% sure if the distributor was installed at TDC. What is the proper way to find TDC on this engine?
If it helps the van is a 1961 Metro; AM152.

Disable ignition. Number one plug out. Finger in hole. Bump (with remote starter switch or helper) until finger gets blown out of cyl number one. Doesn't hurt. Confirm TDC with flashlight piston is at TDC and ignition timing pointer is at TDC.
That's TDC.
Where is rotor pointing on cap?
