He said : I try and rescue metros from the crusher whenever I can.
I have to ask, how many METROS do you have? Are you in Canada or on the other side of the border? Maybe you live in Alaska?
That METRO, without springs, looks like a solid vehicle. I bought an ORRVILLE IHC "R" Crewcab. It had been stored outside for over 4 decades and is 95% rust free and this includes the grill. The area where it was stored was high altitude and near desert conditions.
Getting these old lumps moved is about location, location, location, much like real-estate. I am feeling some excitement for your situation.

Sounds like you're good to go,an LM-120 should have an L-120 chassis.
There are likely some differences, just not with the task at hand. As long as it has usable frame brackets etc., springs from the models I noted should "drop right in". Image

It sounds like you've found the Treasure of the Sierra Madre of old binders! Looking forward to the pic's.

All this action in the Metro section got me looking back...

We sold parts to a number of Atlantic City Jitney owners (some were a real PITA),I found some pic's of a few.

Re: Metro leaf springs interchangeable??

I am familiar with that Cohort article. It's a good one. I would love to have a metro that was used to transport prisoners at Alcatraz, how cool would that be?

I do have a '53 metro that was originally a police transportation van for the city of Santa Rosa Ca. The previous owner before me purchased it from the city in '62. Pretty cool. Still have documentation. It's a shorty too.

The White PDQ is completely new to me. I enjoyed the historical article. Id love to see more pictures if possible?
And that metro looks worth the effort. Nicer body then 3/4 of the ones that come up for sale...
Just a great find.
