I certainly wish you were located on the east side of the country. I'd really like to see that work of art!!

Dom,
It will be a show stopper at the Snap-On event I'm sure! I have to say it's the best looking Metro I've ever seen. 8-)

Thanks guys, I'm glad you are liking what you see. You never know, I may bring it to a National Event someday. Time does fly, it seems like yesterday we put the body on the chassis. That was the day after Christmas and now it's three months later.

Is there any chance you could show or send me a picture or two of your carb accelerator linkage? When I bought my '52, the updraft carb had been removed and the linkage rod was missing. I will need to make one now and can't seem to picture how it's bent.

Thanks!

I won't be able to do anything until I get back from Vegas. I believe I have an extra linkage that you can have, I'll check when I can and let you know.

Re: 1951 Metro- The Restoration Begins

It's been a while but one of the major items to do is done... The floor. My original plans for the floor was to cover it in red linoleum with the nine different Snap-on logos cut into it. I couldn't find a red that I liked, it was either too busy looking or not the right color. I decided to do the floor in wood. I choose maple because of it's mild grain, I thought oak would look too busy in this small truck. My friend Bruce helped me plane down the wood to 1/2", we splined and glued it together. I had to glue the floor in two pieces to fit it in the truck, then I had to glue them together once I fitted them into the truck.

I still wanted the different Snap-on logos on the floor so we painted them on and cleared over the floor

I made up some trim for the front of the floor to cover and hold down the edge of the floor as well as in between the rear doors
