Beach Blast 20

Beach Blast 20, Cocoa Beach, Fl. May 16-18, 2014. A weekend that will live in infamy!
Man, it was brutal. Brutal, I tell you!
The temperature both days was way, way up there - scorching - maybe 85 or 86
The wind was howling at, oh, 10 - 15 miles per hour
The skies were, well, clear, clear I tell you and there was no shade, except for the Oleanders and Palms
The sand was endless, stretching for as far as you could walk, all the way to the water
The Palm trees were, uh, leaning - a little
We had to watch (and listen to) a rocket launch Friday night from the Cape
The gals were wearing bikinis - and they made us watch that, too. You couldn't look away, they made us!
And Saturday and Sunday we had to listen to all that racket from the extreme off-shore racing boats competing
And the cars - oh the inhumanity of it - were so alluring, seductive and attractive we almost broke down
Man it was brutal, but I survived, even the torturous, endless questions about my truck. Why, oh why, was I the only International in this place?
Please, for the sake of the world, please, please send more Internationals to help me fight the battles. I can hold'em off for a while, but please send re-inforcements as soon as possible!

We had our back to the ocean and we fought'em off. It was me against all of'em.

It was tough, man. I made it to the TOP 50

You poor thing, thanks for holding up the IH banner! But it does sound like you enjoyed every moment of your "pain". Keep up the good work spreading IH knowledge to the masses! :t0201:

Maybe by next year I'll get my eyesight back. I lost most of it in a couple of bikinis and I should be able to find my way back to do battle with them again. It's a tough job and someone must uphold that banner!

Oh boy I know how you feel. I went to college just down the coast from Cocoa. Florida Tech in Melbourne. It took me 5 years to do a 4 year degree because we keep scheduling classes around prime sun time (10 Am - 2 Pm for those that are curious). The things I saw on that beach are still as fresh as the day I saw them. Most of them good but a few I wish I could forget (Old men in Speedos ARGH!!!!!!).

Old, flabby women (big and small) in bikinis is another one of those "want to forget" sights, too!

Re: Beach Blast 20

the best summer job I ever had was a life guard at a fancy country club swimming pool. The life guard stand overlook the chaise lounges...... one of my best memories.
