Well I think the IH fates have spoken. The cheapest it can be delivered is $1900. The guy is willing to come down to $1800 on the truck. Unfortunately I don't think the truck is worth $3900 with the work needed. :t1812:

Re: R-180, not mine

With out knowing the distance it has to travel, I can not comment on the costs related. This is something that I do from time to time to help folks out. I did a 2000 mile round trip, the cost on that was right around $1400 to the folks. That covered fuel and related costs for vehicle. That also covered my hotel and food costs. It also paid for my time, and I gave them a break. It was a one way haul and dead head to get the item. Like I said, it depends on the distance it needs to go. Just my thoughts.

Re: R-180, not mine

Well, fuel at 8 MPG and $3.25 would run $488. Add a couple of hundred for hotel and even a hundred for food puts it around $788, Add around $120 per day for 2 days brings it to around $1000-1100. His figures at $1400 are a little high, but then, he may have to pay for the use of the trailer and there are some other related vehicle costs to consider. My previous example was for an elderly couple who were on fixed income and the trailer I hauled was going to be their home. again, just my thoughts. I like the L pickup you listed in the other post.

oh yea. I got two other quotes at 1900 and one at 2400. that L pickup is nice just seems like big money for needing a lot of work.

Re: R-180, not mine

Hit them up at between 1.50-1.70 per loaded mile, that should be a fair pay, in my view. If he could find a back haul he could also charge that and make real good money.
