L Series Rat

I think this is the first L series ratrod I've seen. Looks rough but I bet it really goes with that big V8 under the hood.

Re: L Series Rat

I suppose it would qualify as a rat rod however most rad rods would look a lot cruder. The first thing I noticed is that it is a ‘50 body with hidden door hinges (unless the owner found some clever way to convert it to hidden hinges). It’s listed as a ‘52 which normally has the exposed door hinges. It would fall into that grey area between a rat rod and a crude street rod. Since it has a chassis swap, it probably is a little safer than a true rat rod. It appears for the most part to have fairly good body panels and bed. And yes, that 5.7 L engine should help it keep up with traffic.
L110 owner since 1974, finally rebuilt 2014.
