This TG should fit the long and short box

Re: tailgate made of gold

Hmm. I wonder if I should abandon my truck and just part it out? Think I could get a bidding war going on the tail gate and the passenger side fuel tank? Hmm. Think I will hold on to it a little longer, I would really like to put it together, or find someone who would share my dream. Besides, I am hopefully headed to warmer weather shortly for a little while. Maybe I will watch this "golden" tailgate to see what he gets?

Have you looked at the other items he has for sale? The L series hood emblem is outrageous too!!
Nice looking though...

I have resisted looking, because I let MY hood chrome piece go for a reasonable price to another member a few years ago.

Re: tailgate made of gold

I don't base on what I sold stuff for years back, because no one wanted IHC years back except for some weirdos,

I bought a complete no rust L-110 and could not sell it, I ended up parting it out, still have some of it left,

but that same condition truck I could not sell a few years back would fetch 5-6K now,

that said this guy is off his rocker,

Re: tailgate made of gold

I figure, if what I have helps get another truck on the road, I do not have to make "top" dollar for what I might be selling. I am dedicated to this forum, but I am mostly realistic on things I can and can not accomplish in the "builds" area of things anymore. We are a diverse group here. That is what makes this a great forum.

Little steep, not sure how he came to the price, can find a whole truck for that kind of dough.
I sold a '52 Mercury tailgate for $250 USD to buyer in Las Vegas which was a fair price considering condition and rarity.

Re: tailgate made of gold

I'd trade a nice looking L series hood ornament for a passenger side gas tank. Just to start the bidding. ;)
