Re: Silver Diamond SD240

I have decided to replace the rear leaf rubber bushings
have them on order ,

Has anyone here done this , and if so any tips or link to video ?
I can tackle anything and had done complete replacement
of from leafs a while back ,
even so the rears have a different stud off the frame setup and looks like I
will need to drop the leafs completely off the real diff axle.

Asking for the heck of it, The old bushing are not
in terribly bad shape but, need something to do , lol

Re: Silver Diamond SD240

If it is too difficult to move the spring ends over so you can replace the HARRIS bushings, you may need to loosen the "U" bolt, nuts a few turns. If you have found a good replacement for the Harris 854 bushings, please post it here.
Some of the spring perches I have worked, with were severely damaged from overloading and rust. I make replacement perch pins in two styles. One is like the OEM with external threads and the other has internal threading.

You will need 3 bushing sets of 2 bushings for each spring. (total of 6 per spring)

I took the L110 springs into Scott Spring and had the leaves "tuned". I asked for the spring-pack to be half the number of OEM. The leaf-springs only duty will to locate the axles. The suspension will have air springs to carry the load. The suspension height will be controlled by Holland Neway leveling valves. Two on the rear and one on the front axle.
I am planning to design a traction bar or two on each axle to control axle wind-up.
