Looks like the Holley-Weber 2BBL off a Vega, Pinto or Chevette, any way you cut it the wrong carb for the engine. I wonder what they mean by dismantler? Does that mean the title is missing or turned in as scrap? If so it might be hard to re-title it as a truck.

I remember reading somewhere that there was a factory two barrel option for the bigger BD sixes.

Yes, there was but it wasn't that carb. Later 265 and 308's had a Holley 2bbl but it was a close kin to the ones they used all the way up to the RD450.
Also the Holley -Weber didn't come out until the 70's, long after IHC had stopped putting the small 6 in a vehicles.

Be interesting to know how well that one worked on the A120. I know of one guy converted his B 264 to a Rochester one barrel. Probably right off a Chevy six. It seemed to work well. I'm considering it on one of mine. The old Holley one barrel has just defied my best efforts to get it to idle or run at anything under 1000 rpm unless the choke is partially on.

Re: A120

I'm trying to remember, but I think that is a progressive 2bbl so I don't think it would have even mixing to all cyl. May be why the truck is at auction.
Carbs don't know what brand or even the configuration of the engine they are mounted on, so a Rochester would likely do fine.
I find all carbs seam to have their good points and problems. I know I'll get some flack for it, but my favorite are the SU side drafts.

Re: A120

Yup, the weber/holley used on some cars was a progressive two barrel, but there was also an aftermarket version with matched bores that both opened together. I had one on an old Mercury Capri with the 2.8L V6. I can't tell from the picture which it is. At a quick glance, they looked the same. Hopefully they didn't use the progressive version on that manifold without a mixer/spacer, but those carbs were certainly more available than the non-progressive version.

Re: A120

There even was a progressive version of the Holley 2300 2bbl, I had a discussion with Jon from "the carb shop" about it. Never seen one in person but they were made.
I was working in automotive trade when those little carbs were popular.
