The pictures tell the story of a person who spent a lot of time and money freshening a Scout. The Scout was driven for some time, check the dirty air filter, until the rust started to reappear. I have to think the original rusting was not dealt with properly during the freshening. The rust you see is an indicator of much more rust to come.
If that selling bid is true, that is an OK deal for a really nice Cummins powered IHC Scout in perfect condition.
I have my doubts about the "good deal" when I see that amount of rusting in the usual places.
That Cummins 4bt/transmission/transfercase package is worth nearly $20k in this area.

Yes that is a Pricey piece of work. I wonder why the original 4 banger is shown on the painted frame pic?

Maybe the 4bt Cummins was not available, at that time. The Cummins is a nice upgrade to the Scout. The 4bt is very difficult to find in 2021. I have a really nice 4bta sitting on a mobile stand, in my shop.
