Diesel "L" with removable top

I know this truck and I know the guy who built it. HIs workmanship is extraordinary. I do not think there are many persons who could have done a build like this as good as or better than this. The asking price does not represent the higher cost of building something like this. The paint is flawless. The top is removable.

The ad says the grille was widened. Do you know if that was to give better fender coverage over the front tires, or is there another, less obvious reason?
