FWIW...
70's - 80's GMC 7000's could be had with either the 4-53 or 4-71 and Allison's. So there's a possible source.
IH only used the 6V53 for small/medium bore Driptroit's,even in the heavy 230D,M-series and Paystar 5000.
Somewhere on Youtube there's a vid of an M-series 6x6 with a 6V53 and an Allison behind it,what a dog!
12 yrs.exp. in IH dealer parts dept.

It would make a great food/vendors truck. I saw a vending truck recently only peddling hotdogs and roasted nuts. The body length was shorter than that mail truck..and you can imagine the advertising slogans they had only peddling dogs and nuts.

My dog was putting on quite a show while taking care of business, like only a dog can. I being a thick in the middle person made a comment that I wish that I could do "that". My friend said, " Ask". Thankfully, the beer ran out.

That Detroit 4/53 is running out time on eBay and the bidding will close in 30 minutes. If I were in the market or had the space, I would use the make an offer. The package is for a 4/53 with the four valve head and a 727 automatic adapted to the engine. and it is just over $2k asking. I figure $1500 might take it. The seller is located in Tacoma, WA.
