At the same time, I remember Dad installing an electric fuel pump. Suddenly the then newish Ford ran dependably because the vapor-locking went away. I think the fuel pump made the difference.
While I do not know for sure, I think this bit of technology made a gap for the spark to jump across. The theory was this made the spark stronger.
I think I may have one of these units buried in one of the drawers of junk.
In the early 1950s there were many fraudulent claims for things that were supposed to improve the power and fuel economy on fuel that cost about 15 cents a gallon. .
