Site Down

In My uneducated terms: Basically the site went down because we had an: " .htaccess file that we use to block bad guys that was causing the issue " What this means: Nothing on the site was Damaged. We just lost two days of Posting.
There was nothing wrong with that (.htaccess file) that Jim can find. Unknown why it created the problem.
What it means to you Guys: Just your lost time of being on.
What it Means to Jim: Has to find a way to help us block major Spam sites and Countries.
What it means to me : I get to wade through more "bad" registrations than before, THAT is why we have ADMIN Activation for registration, so we can keep the site as clear and clean as possible.

Just to let you guys know, you missed the 3 outages this morning as I was experimenting.
However, most were only about 10 seconds long since I knew what the offending file was, I was able to change it before anyone noticed it.

I'm getting used to the new format, and it seems to be working pretty well. I'm able to navigate with my iPhone 5 with no issues.

i experienced an outage yesterday about 12:30 pm dallas time. i tried posting a comment three times, it churned for a couple minutes each time, then said server busy. Never did get the comment posted, so now you have all missed out on my wisdom!

"Server Busy" simply means that the server that the db is on is overloaded momentarily.
I'm surprised that you got caught in on of these as they seldom happen. Even when I am doing massive file transfers.

okay so around 12:30 pm dallas time (that is central), it happened to me again yesterday. three days in a row at the same time. i can look at posts but cannot post replies. the server busy keeps coming up. ???
