Back Again!

I wanted to take a minute to reintroduce myself after having been away for a few years. When I was here before I went by the username "Sleeve" and was the the owner of a 51 L112 but made the mistake of selling it.I think Binder Mike is a good handle to go by, I've gotten older and sleeve just doesn't seem to fit any more. The old IHC that I have always wanted finally came available last week and if all goes well I will be driving it home tomorrow. It's a 1956 S120 4X4, pretty much original with lots of patina. It needs some work but that is half the fun. I'm a four wheel drive nut so this one is the Holy Grail of Corn Binders for me. :yay: I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I go along but the good members of this site helped me get my 51 back on the road so I think I'll do alright this time around.

Well, that's a bad-ass truck! Love to see the interior, too. Thanks for the photos!
Got to love the S120, especially a short-bed 4x4! And- Love the essentials only, patina look, too! Congratulations, Mike!

Re: Back Again!

The interior is all original and not cut up and in very good shape. One of the previous owners had the seat reupholstered so that's a plus. It has the original floor mat in surprisingly good shape but I took it out this morning because the jute backing was holding too much moisture against the floor. I tucked it away for safe keeping.Next time I have my camera out I'll see if I can get some inside shots.

One other footnote to this story is five years ago I tried to buy this truck from a different owner but he wouldn't sell it to me so I gave up and then saw a new owner driving it. I wrote it off as just not being in the right place at the right time but when I saw it for sale in last weeks paper I jumped on it! It took five years but I finally have it.

Re: Back Again!

Cool truck! Also historically significant because IH was building factory 4-wheel drives and Ferds and Chebbies were third-party conversions.
