And it begins

I just came back to Missouri from the Iowa corn field with my very first International. It's 1948 KB6. I'm impressed with the thickness of the steel it' was made with.
This truck has NO rust through spots. Surface rust of course but that is easily remedied.
Not sure if the folks on this site are purist so I don't mean to offend when I tell you my vision is to put this on a 1 ton dually 4x4 GMC chassis which is what I used to pull the KB5 back to Missouri with.
The body will stay original
It will be used as a daily driver. That's why I'm going to the GMC drive train

Just love the look of these years of International trucks
Always been a car/truck nut so this will be fun I think
Thanks in advance because I'll be asking a lot of questions throughout this process

Anyone know where I can find a left side KB5 emblem that's on the hood?

Re: And it begins

There are some who have done full restorations on their trucks. All I ask, is make offer of parts you may not be using, in case someone does need them. Shipping is always an issue with parts, especially large parts. Look forward to pictures!

Re: And it begins

As you likely know, the -6 and up is a different beast than -5 and down, different cab and drivetrain. depending on gearing and tires, the -6 can run 60 mph in stock form.
Most consider me a purest, and I will not argue the point. A -6 is a heavy truck and as you have found the cab and nose isn't light. You not talking "duelly" pick-up here, but a true medium duty truck, in the 15K-20K weight class. IN modern trucks it would be a C65 Chevy or a F700 Ford, or a S International. All likely have been placed on pick-up chassies by someone, but not my cup of tea.

If no one here has one, they come up for sale on Ebay occasionally.
