The Truck I learned to Drive On

I've decided to get the truck of my youth back up and running, a '52 L112. I resurrected it in 1978, took parts from a super rusted out one sitting next to it in the barn and somehow got it running. I messed around with it and learned to drive in the fields (as a minor). It was then overhauled with a hone and rings and grinding of the crank. Went through a couple of wax rope rear seals before I got one to work.

This is the truck somewhere around 1982. You'll need to copy and paste the link into your browser.

It's pretty good shape, not really rusted. You can see that driveshaft in the rear, was welded in and PO had a crane hanging off the back. Bent the frame and bed a bit in that corner.

Plans are to get this thing running sweet, turn it into some sort of rat-rod or hot-rod. I was thinking of a Chevy LS but have been turned onto the newer diesel truck engines. Complications abound, it will be a year before I get the truck, so now I'm in dreaming stage.

Glad to be part of the group!
