Hello from Germany

Hi Folks!
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member to this fabulous forum. My name is Marcel and I live pretty much in the center of Germany. I bought my 1946 K1 in Texas, back in 2012 and brought it overseas. It wasn't running and the brake master was gone, so I putted the Truck in the corner of our shop and left it alone. Lucky I did, cause my plan was to lower it, Mustang II IFS, LS-swap.....etc. ... Nothing bad about it, but I changed my mind before it was too late.
After almost five years of just looking at it, I thought it'd be pretty cool to leave it original and drive it. So I started researching the web for parts and information and found this forum. I want to say THANK YOU to each and everyone here for sharing your knowledge and information. Without this forum, my Truck would still sit in the corner of our shop. I got the truck on the road since about six weeks, it passed german safety inspections and got its registration and german plates about four weeks ago. Since that time, I'm driving it every day. It will never be finished, cause there's always something to do on a 71 year old machine.... but that's what it's all about. ANYONE CAN BUY A NEW TRUCK.... REAL FOLKS KEEP THE OLD ONES RUNNING!
Cheers to you and again THANK YOU

Re: Hello from Germany

Great looking truck Marcel, Thank you for the pictures! I spent a little time in Germany back in 76-77. Beautiful country where I was stationed. Lots of friendly people. What major town are you by? I think there might be one or two other members in Germany, memory not so good, but seem to remember approving at least one, and possibly two.

Thanks Lloyd.
I live about 60 miles north of Frankfurt/Main. Haven't seen any Binders in my area but sure would like to know how many we have in Germany, especially K/KBs.

Welcome to the site and thanks for the pics! You've done a nice job on the truck. I like the look.

Re: Hello from Germany

Thanks Dean.
I left the look pretty much alone. Just took care of the hood emblem, cause it was just gray primered and a little rusty. And sandblasted the windshield frame and painted it, because it needed new windshield glass. Thats about it, but still some small things I collected and want to add... like a pair of matching 1946 license plates.
