TX 1952 L-120 Corps of Engineers

Hey

My Dad and I just picked up a 52 L-120 that was on a heavier chassis with service bed. The cab is in really good shape and it used to be a Corps or Engineers vehicle. We will be swapping the body onto a late model ford chassis with one of the cummins 6bt motors.

Looking forward to getting a build thread started once things start to come together. We would also make someone a really good deal on the original chassis with motor and trans if they could use it.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

We are picking the chassis up this coming week. I will be sure to start a build thread once we begin the frame shortening and body mount process.

Welcome to the site! That's a pretty straight truck with nice patina. Are you planning to repaint the body or leave it like it is? This will be a cool build.

We are just going to leave it as is. I cleaned a few small areas and the black stuff is just staining of the paint. We also want to preserve the army markings.

The interior is going to get paint. I guess it held some moisture and degraded a bit quicker than the exterior.

DFW area

I went to look at the F250 Chassis near Austin yesterday. It looked like it took an impact to the passenger rear wheel, so going to have to keep looking.
