1100 Headliner Installation

Is there any secrets to installing a headliner in a ‘67 1100. I believe it has a bigger middle section and two side wings?

Do you center the bigger piece and the fit the sides? Oh and what kind of glue do you use? Any help is much appreciated.

Re: 1100 Headliner Installation

I have a different truck - it's an A-120 4x4 but when I got it all it had was some old glue and fragments of some kind of contact paper up there. :)

I scraped it relatively clean, painted it with anti-rust paint. A week or so later I installed some acoustic/thermal mat up there that had a self adhesive backing. That worked great. Then I tried a medium-heavy weight fabric that matched my re-upholstered seat color. I used a heavy duty spray adhesive on the insulating foam and the back of the fabric. Well that was a small disaster. I really needed another set of hands. I botched that job badly the fabric folded and stuck to itself - short story I got it off without botching up the insulation mat.

I switched to a lighter "headliner" fabric purchased from a fabric store and a light duty spray glue. I got it up - thanks to its re-positionability with the light duty glue. Looked great. Now a week later it has sagged away from the insulation matting. It has been very humid here in Wisconsin.

So I am likely up for a round 3 and I suppose I will try a middle duty glue. Loctite, and 3M both make the spray adhesives in various strengths.
Best of luck!
