1958 A120 parking brake Question

On this model the brake is on the floor to the right of the shifter. Mine swings freely and does not engage. (I have ordered a manual but it has not yet arrived.) Does anyone have the schematic showing where and how it bolts to the frame? Thanks, Lew

Irish Mikes Library may have what you need I know that he has a 118-MT listed.

Actually the MT-104 is the parts book for your model, Mike lists them wrong with the "MT" after the number.
He does have the 104 now and the brake section [Group 4] is complete.

If you scroll down to the bottom of Irish Mike's group 4 page, it shows your setup.

Unless the handle really wobbles around, you might have some broken linkage or missing connector.

Re: 1958 A120 parking brake Question

Hi Rocco

On my truck the "VIN" number is on a plate that screws to the outside edge of the driver's side door (I actually took it off for safekeeping. It was just held on with 4 screws). It is actually a serial number and sometimes this cornfuses the DOL since it doesn't have the right number of numbers to be a VIN.

Hopefully yours isn't missing. Look in that spot for 4 empty holes. Might also have been painted over, too. Let us know what you find.

There is also a frame number (which I'm not certain is the same as the serial number on the plate- anybody know for sure?) It is located on the outside of the frame near the front axle on the driver's side. Might be kind of faint and covered with scuzz so you might need to take a wire brush to it to get it to show. I'll try to get some pics up here this afternoon if I get out to Mom & Dad's.
