I've never seen that. That said now I'm going to go check mine.

Anytime you are working on an older car check the ends of the lugs they should be labeled 'L' or 'R.'

I would have if I could have! The previous owner used closed lugs on the studs. So I had to get them off to see and I had to see to get them off haha.

Talk about a Catch-22.

Yeah, waltesefalcon, it was an unpleasant surprise. The deformation was smooth as could be. That’s either a slow, even pressure (overloading), or a sudden deformation (seized wheel bearing) followed by a gradual reworking of the damaged area. I really don’t know. Mysteries of an old Idaho farm truck.

I have a whole bunch of pictures but simply haven’t had time to post much lately. Work, kids, more work, out of town...
