With the needed programming hardware and knowledge, or knowing someone that already possesses the ability to tune/modify the GM 7747 ECM then it doesn’t matter which TB you use nor ECM for that matter. You can change almost every characteristic of the program. I started with the 4.3L tb as it most closely matched the displacement of my engines. While these engines spin slowly, I can’t help but suspect airflow was limiting factor in their overall performance. I’m not trying to build a hot rod, but I do want the engine to run as well as it can.
