61 B160

I have had this truck for a few years now,due to my work habits I don't get to spend much time with my projects. This truck is all original, 304 V-8, 4spd, 2spd, and it all works as it should. It came with a key fob that had the name and "4 digit" phone number on it of a grain company in Shawnee, Ill, after getting a copy of the line sheet from Chicago, I found that it was originally sold to a grain, or emplement company in Ill. The original color is Gulf Green.

I have changed out the left fender and hood since this pic, and partially got it under primer.

Re: 61 B160

Had a moment here so I thought I would add a couple more pics of the process, but I can only get this one to down load, I have installed all new wheel cylinders, new grease seals and axle bearings in the rear axle, the engine runs good, but I have a 392 / 5spd I have thought about dropping in it for the xtra torque, and the xtra gear, I'll try to get some better pics to share.

Re: 61 B160

Well I guess it does look like a canon, or jet engine.....but actually it is a 20hp bessemer oilfield engine that I saved from the scrap man, if you look right between the frame rails at the back you can see the piston, and guide rod laying on the crossmember of the truck. Engine has a 9 1/2" bore, and a 15" stroke.

My rig can be seen in the introduction site. Bigole61. Can you or anyone else offer tips on installing power steering in these old beasts?
Thanks

Re: 61 B160

Is that a spray rigging at the rear bumper? If so, that is what my Dads B150 ended up doing in its last days with float wheel/tires. it looked pretty strange, but sprayed the crops.

Welcome to our site and let's see if we can help you out.
