Steering Linkage Question

Before I damage something, can someone please tell me how to correctly disassemble the steering linkage? Specifically, how to you remove the "plug" at the end of this arm:

I've removed the cotter pin, and it looks like it is a threaded plug. I've soaked the ends with liquid wrench to see if that will help loosen the plug.

Thanks,
Pete

Re: Steering Linkage Question

Why the new thread???

You're right, the plug is threaded and is also for adjusting the spring tension inside.Just unscrew it. Most truck mechanics I knew used the large screwdriver sockets and a ratchet.

Probably a good idea to see about a rebuild kit.
