Re: removal of dash light switch

To get the knob/rod out of the switch there should be a small button on the bottom,push it in and the rod should come right out.The nut screws into the switch thru the sheet metal.

This is what the rod & nut look like;

In case you need one...
Switch PN
1995110 Delco-Remy <Obsolete>
Does not cross to any aftermarket part.

This didn't sell,likely still has it(?) If you have an EB acct. contact him.Or call,there's a ph.# listed.

If you open the link above and scroll down to the pic's there's one of the switch bottom that shows the release button.It's the small brown thing about center in pic.

Also do you know we're I could find out what make and year my truck is, I know what it says on the door plate. But I think my Grande father might have swapped it out. I'm pretty sure it's either a 1963 c-1100 or 1965-69? D -1100, the door says c-1100 but after looking at pictures I'm not quite sure.

B-63, post a picture of the cab. I have a '69 and '68, (and some others), the hoods were different in '69 (flatter). The grills were different from year to year, I think, but might have been changed by a previous owner. I have a '66 and a '68 with the same grill. Irish Mike posted a lot of info on deciphering what the VIN number meant, that might help as well. Wish you luck with it. Bill

I couldn't reply sooner,been having Wi-Fi problems.

1st thing I would do is get the CHASSIS number off the frame and match it to the door plate. It's stamped in the left front rail between the front & rear spring hangers,usually close to the steering gear. It's not always very easy to read,so you may need a wire brush and a cleaner.A piece of white chalk can help after it's clean too.

This is a visual ID but it's better to check the chassis #'s

You can check chassis numbers here;
