Hello all, I took a look at my line sheet on the visor of my '63 C1500 and noticed that it called out my truck as a C1500 "Prototype". Does anyone know if this is common or could this truck be a prototype? It has a Bg241 engine in it. Not sure how to tell if it's anything special. Was '63 the first year for the C1500?

If you have the chassis number, you should be able to, perhaps find a little more information at the Wisconsin Historical Society web page in the McCormick collection.

FYI, "prototype" on the Line Setting Ticket simply indicates that the truck was ordered from a pre-selected set of build specifications/options for that model.
Nothing more, nothing less.
In reality, a quick way for an IH dealer to order a truck quickly & easily for his stock.
Usually, there were several "prototype" to choose from for each model truck.
And, "prototype" was a shortened version of "prototypical".
You can look that word up in your dictionary.

"adjective"......" denoting the first, original, or typical form of something."
