A112 Steering Ball Worn
So my latest mission is in regards to a worn steering arm ball on our 1959 A112, FA1 axle, no power steering. The arm assembly is part number 166 787 R11. Per the parts book, these are sold as a complete assembly. Jeff from the forum tried to help me find one, but no luck. The ball is worn and stepped, so I'd like to replace it with new. The rest of the arm is fine. Does anyone know of any of these being available? Or, anyone ever been able to replace only the ball? I can't tell how it was assembled, but looks to be pressed together. I don't want to destroy it without having a better understanding first, although it may be a lost cause. The ball isn't listed separately in the book, and there is no procedure in the maintenance manual. Just curious at this point.
I have attached a few photos.
Thanks!
