A110 Clutch Linkage Rod End

Hi Everyone,

I'm having no luck finding an alternate part number for a part of our clutch linkage on our 1959 A110 with a three-on-the-tree. The parts manual calls out part number 185 423 R91. Its basically a tie rod end that mounts through the frame and hooks to the trans linkage. Its on the driver's side frame rail, right under the firewall. I've tried all the usual vendor websites, Moog, NAPA, etc, etc, with no luck. Has anyone ever encountered a replacement for one of these?

Thanks!

Does it have a tapered stud or is the stud plain? The reason I ask is the shift linkage used by cabovers in the 80's uses a small "tie rod end" type joint that was still available from Eaton last time I needed one. The other option is a Hiam joint.

Thanks for the reply Cornbinder. I'll have to look when I get home, but I am pretty sure it is plain, not tapered.

Has plain stud joints, you might find something that will work.
If it has tapered studs, then may be one of the Eaton ends will work.

Re: A110 Clutch Linkage Rod End

Went out and looked at my A bodied Fleetstar. Although it is a much bigger truck, I think there might be some common parts. The linkage has rod joints that are tapered and the stud thread is 3/8 course, the rod end looks to be 1/2 fine. You are welcome to my ends if they will work, but they are well worn with some slop in them.
The Eaton ends are physically bigger, but I think the stud end is the same thread.

Re: A110 Clutch Linkage Rod End

Thanks for all the help guys!
I've attached a photo. The thing isn't in horrible shape, but since I am replacing all the suspension components with new I hope to replace this with new as well. Worse case I can reuse it.
I'm also thinking if I can find a listing of dimensions I can just buy a random tie rod end that fits...
I got the front leaf springs off yesterday. Now I'm also in search of rear shackles and front pins.... Thing is beating me up lol..

I see you tried these guys, but when doing a power steer conversion, I was able to match the pitch, thread etc.
