Heater Core

So I got the heater all apart and found no core. Great, now to source out a core. Here's what I found on Google. Question is, is this what I need, will it work? Weird configuration but it appears close. Any help or pictures of the real deal greatly appreciated. The truck is a 1966 3/4 ton 4x4. Thanks.

Re: Heater Core

Do you have a picture of your Heater before you took it apart? Just wondering if it is the same basic design as the ones that were in the L's. Just looked at a core in my shed, while I was looking for a spray nozzle.

Re: Heater Core

Here's the IH PN for the core...
872425R91 Core

This core was also used in the Loadstar medium duty line. The above PN is the 2-1/2" thick core,Loadstars also used a 2" thick core PN 437641C1 which also may be available.

Google search results show PN is in the NSN parts system so may be available.

The link below is for the vendor I contacted some months ago to see if the general public can purchase from them, I was informed that yes they can.

Also found it listed here;

You can also try an International dealer, just give them the PN and ask them to "check it".

Re: Heater Core

Thanks for the help. I've contacted the local International dealer. If no joy there I believe what I'll order online will be correct. Here's pic of my heater innards minus the core.

Re: Heater Core

I don't think the one in my 65 looked like that. If I can find it I could shoot you a picture. Right now my cab is apart and off the truck, and all the parts are boxed up out in the shed. So I'd need to do some looking.

Re: Heater Core

If the heater core is shaped like a "u" and has two blower motors it is a high capacity heater.

Replacement cores are most likely not available. A good radiator shop should be able to build you a new core utilizing the parts and pieces you have already.

Good luck.
