Re: Braking problems

WOW, they dont make things easy, Thank you for letting me know. I was going to order them. Im just trying to look around at the best deals, the shipping just bumps the cost up so much. If i was to order brakes shoes and star wheel adjust from rockauto then its about £36 for the parts and £36 for shipping (about $110). Im just waiting on a reply from CarID and about the barke shoes and shipping costs. Everything seems to be working on the brakes apart from it pulling to one side and a bit of a leak on the wheel cylinder, i suppose i could just keep all the springs that are on there, i just thought it would be good to replace them all. Again thanks for all the info and help. Luke

Re: Braking problems

Gutted!!!! Been working on my brakes on and off for the weeks now. I removed the front brake shoes and wheel cylinder, cleaned everything up, went to fit the new wheel cylinder and its to big. Hole centers are correct. Tried looking on rock auto but cant seem to find an exact match. If anyone could help i would be grateful.

Re: Braking problems

I was wrong. Everything to big and the holes centers are a few millimeters bigger, however i did manage to get the old apart. The thickness gunk you could imagine. It was solid, took about 45 minutes. Hopefully i can get it cleaned up and reused. luke

Re: Braking problems

So what happened ? I read the thread and am now in suspense , could you clean up the old cylinders ? the casting numbers help ? There are a lot of things that come up on ebay , and there is a parts book resource here , Irish mikes gangster site . https://app.box.com/shared/otkihx6yoa , that really helped me a lot
