Re: LST's for canadian built trucks

Also, before I forget, I did pick up a copy of "International Trucks" shortly after I acquired my scout 6 years ago. A must have for anyone who's brave?... enough to own one of their vehicles. A lot of useful info in that book. By the way, a friend of mine in Hope wanted me to let you know that he still tries to "paint alligators" whenever he can. Not too sure how successful he is at that! lol. thanks again for all your help. cheers!

That ICBC VIN number is as good as gold. ICBC has made it difficult to get one orf their numbers to protect you and them.
The big grey IHC book is fantastic and well worth the money.
I dont mind looking up stuff and it only takes a few minutes. I have links to much of this stuff.
Enjoy your truck and dont get all crazy about "all original". It could take the joy out of ownership really quickly. All original could potentially be more costly than a slightly modified Binder. Check out the build that I am doing on a 1952 L110 Shorty in the build-off section. Lots of ideas and a few warnings.

I also asked my local dealer here in Ontario but they thought it cost $40 to do a LST search. Needless to say, I didnt go through with it. My Dad bought the 59 BCF-180 tandem in 60 or 61 and it has the original VIN plate- IHC of Canada, Hamilton, Ont. but were they not built in Chatham?

I've seen his alligators scratch and sniff up close and personal. I know that he has been rewarded for his artworks. It takes some level of genius to make a Real Canadian Beaver take on a reptilian appearance. This guy also cuts cedar shakes into pieces that form a detailed and beautiful 3D landscape. He is truly one of the good guys.

Lol, yes sir I have to agree. I've had the pleasure of visiting him a few times now and it's always been very entertaining... and enlightening.

hi bcf180, from what I've learned so far, their plant was in Chatham but I believe the Canadian head office was in Hamilton. But, I do stand corrected on that.

Hi IHC addict: I think you are 100% right on. I will ask my 88 yr. old neighbour. He drove trucks back from the Chatham plant for the local dealer to this part of Ontario for many years. Cheers.
